We are pleased to introduce the new CIMT web interface at CHASS.
This new web interface offers many features designed to make accessing CIMT data easier. Some of these features include:
- Various ways of searching the database - Manually entering commodities codes, uploading codes files or extracting the entire database.
- Search of harmonized system - commodities lookup utility by HS code or HS name.
- Bilingual.
The Trade Analyser provides web interfaces for Canadian International Merchandise Trade (CIMT) database and World trade database produced by Statistics Canada, International Trade Division.
Canadian International Merchandise Trade (CIMT) data contains monthly trade statistics, 1988 to latest available, showing quantity and value (CDN $), HS10 (imports) / HS8 (exports) (Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System) classification, province or state of the U.S., country of origin/destination, and dutiable trade indicator and amount.
World trade data contains annual trade statistics, showing volume of trade (US $) between pairs of trading countries, imports and exports, 1980-2005. This data is no longer updated by Statistics Canada.
